If you are a physician who is practicing in Georgia, you may be able to qualify for student loan compensation towards your student loans through the Georgia Physicians For Rural Areas: Student Loan Assistance Program.

Eligibility?

In order to be considered for this program, you will need to meet a few different qualifications. The following is required to be considered eligible for the Georgia Physicians For Rural Areas: Student Loan Assistance Program:

  • Must commit to practice medicine for a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • You must work in a county that has fewer than 35,000 residents
  • You must participate in the Medicaid program and actively treat Medicaid recipients.

How much should be expected through his award?

If you are selected for the Georgia Physicians For Rural Areas: Student Loan Assistance Program, you will be eligible to qualify for up to $25,000.00 per year for a maximum of 4 years.
