The Attorney Student Loan Repayment Program also commonly referred to as the ASLRP program is an agency program that works with The Department of Justice and helps Attorneys who work for them to repay certain types of Federal Student Loans. This is done as a recruitment and/or retention incentive for only the highest qualified attorneys in exchange for a service obligation for a minimum of 3 years.

Eligibility?

In order to qualify for this program, you must meet the Department’s policy. This policy is for any employee serving in or being hired to serve as an attorney that has federal student loans totaling at least $10,000. You must also be in a position to complete a three-year service agreement for the Department. If you meet both of these criteria that you may qualify for this program. Please note that just because you meet the above qualifications does not mean that you will automatically receive ASLRP funding.

How much should be expected through his award?
