Through the Army Reserves Health Professionals Student Loan Repayment Program reservee’s have the ability to get some serious money in student loan repayment. This program covers four main programs including Healthcare Professionals Loan Repayment Program (HPLR). Through this program, qualified applicants may qualify for up to $50,000 in student loan assistance. Eligibility?

For general eligibility for this program, you will need to be a health professional as well as a member of the Army Reserve. If you meet these two prerequisites you may qualify for this program. Along with the above-required prerequisites, you must be enrolled in a program of education that will lead to professional qualifications or you must perform satisfactory service as an officer in the Selected Reserve. This must have been done through the Armed Forces as well as already have professional qualifications.

Additionally, you must be int he health profession that according to the Secretary of Defense has determined is in an area which has been identified as a wartime combat medical skill shortage area.

Healthcare Professionals Loan Repayment Program (HPLR) provides up to $50,000 for the repayment of outstanding education loans to physicians in designated specialties. HPLR is paid over three years with up to $20,000 paid the first two years and up to $10,000 paid in the third year. Medical/Dental Student Stipend Program (MDSSP) provides a monthly stipend of more than $2,000 for medical students currently attending medical school.

Healthcare Professionals Loan Repayment Program (HPLR) provides up to $50,000 for the repayment of outstanding education loans to physicians in designated specialties. HPLR is paid over three years with up to $20,000 paid the first two years and up to $10,000 paid in the third year.
