Through the Steven M Thompson Physician Corps Loan Repayment Program, qualified applicants may be eligible to receive this award towards paying off their student loans. The Steven M. Thompson Physician Corps Loan Repayment Program offers loan repayment assistance to recently licensed allopathic or osteopathic physicians and surgeons who agree to practice in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) or Primary Care Shortage Area (PCSAs) in California for a service term of at least 3 years. In order to be eligible for Steven M Thompson Physician Corps Loan Repayment Program, you will need to meet all of the following criteria:
  • Allopathic or osteopathic physicians and surgeons licensed to practice in California, who are free from any other service obligation.

Through the Steven M Thompson Physician Corps Loan Repayment Program, applicants may qualify for up to $105,000 in student loan repayment in exchange for a 3-year service commitment. **Applicants may be awarded up to two times.
