Through the Kansas Bridging Loan Forgiveness Plan, doctors in the state of Kansas may be able to qualify towards thousands in student loan forgiveness. Continue reading to see what you need to qualify as eligible for this great loan forgiveness program.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Kansas Bridging Plan, you must be a physician in a Kansas residency program of Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Medicine/Pediatrics. You must also plan to practice full-time in a rural community for 36 continuous months after completion of your program. The rural community can’t be located in Douglas, Johnson, Sedgwick, Shawnee or Wyandotte County.

How much can I expect to be awarded through this program?

If you are eligible for this program, you may be able to qualify for up to $26,000 in student loan forgiveness.

What loans are accepted into this program?

The following loans are considered as acceptable for this program:
• Stafford loans
• Student PLUS loans
• Consolidation loans
• Perkins loans
• Private student loans
