DC Health Professional Loan Repayment Program
If you are a healthcare professional in the District of Columbia you may want to take a look into DC Health Professional Loan Repayment Program. Through this program, qualifying applicants have the ability to qualify for some serious money towards their student loans. You may qualify for almost $150,000 in total loan repayment upon qualifying for the HPLRP program. Read more to see what you need to be eligible.
Eligibility?
In order to be qualified for the DC Health Professional Loan Repayment Program, there are a few things you need in order to be eligible. This program is for eligible health professionals who are practicing fulltime through an HPLRP-certified program in areas of shortage. This also is considered for areas that are deemed medically underserved areas which include HPSAs and MUAs throughout DX. Through these programs dentists and physicians may qualify for $148,471 and for all other elected positions you may qualify up to $81,657 in total student loan reimbursements depending on funds and availability. The following are considered Eligible Providers:
Licensed and Certified:
- Physicians (MD, DO)
- Dentists (DDS)
Other licensed and credentialed medical professionals including:
- Dental Hygienists
- Registered Nurses
- Advanced Practice Nurses
- Physician Assistants
Licensed and credentialed mental health providers including:
- Clinical Social Workers
- Clinical Psychologists
- Professional Counselors

How much should be expected through his award?
If you are accepted into this program you may qualify for up to $148,471 in student loan repayments if you are a physician and dentists.
